Genetically-modified grass growing in wild

Genetically-engineered golf course grass is growing in the wild, a new study says.

The modified grass was meant to resist herbicides like Roundup to allow weed control at golf courses. However, it could spread that resistance in the wild making weed control more difficult.

Genetically-modified crops including those not approved as safe for human consumption have been known to contaminate other crops after they escaped their containment areas.
