Al-Jazeera news network put on hold

Al-Jazeera International news network will not open this May as planned and likely will be shelved until after this summer.

Technical snags between the broadcast nodes in Doha, Qatar, Kuala Lumpur, London and Washington D.C., have delayed the network's awaited debut.

Also it is not known if any U.S. carrier has contracted to air the network.

Al-Jazeera wants to compete with other worldwide broadcasters like the BBC and CNN and has signed name journalists like David Frost, Dave Marash and Riz Khan.
