Al Gore shares Nobel Prize
Al Gore has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, which he will share with the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
Gore starred in and helped promote the award-winning film "An Inconvenient Truth" and was one of the driving forces behind the "Live Earth" global concert. Both productions promoted awareness of the climate change crisis.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change organized 2,000 experts for an unprecedented peer-reviewed study that confirmed the more dire predictions concerning global warming.
Presidential candidates like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton publicly congratulated Gore, and many are looking at which candidate the Nobel winner may endorse in the future.
