Diana crash witness says 'white flash' preceded tragedy
The inquest into the death of Princess Diana heard the testimony today of witnesses who claimed to have seen a bright flash just before the accident, and others who saw another vehicle alongside Diana's car as it entered the tunnel where Diana died.
Jean-Claude and Annick Catheline were walking near the entrance to the tunnel with their daughter, Marie-Agnes, and her then-fiance, now husband, David Le Ny at the time of the accident. All four had reported seeing two cars entering the tunnel together side-by-side although David Le Ny now remembers only one car. They heard two noises in the tunnel, one which Annick Catheline described as two cars bumping into each other followed by a much larger crashing sound.
