A driver who witnessed the crash that killed Diana, Princess of Wales, today told how he saw a "major white flash" moments before the fatal collision.

Jean-Claude and Annick Catheline were walking near the entrance to the tunnel with their daughter, Marie-Agnes, and her then-fiance, now husband, David Le Ny at the time of the accident. All four had reported seeing two cars entering the tunnel together side-by-side although David Le Ny now remembers only one car. They heard two noises in the tunnel, one which Annick Catheline described as two cars bumping into each other followed by a much larger crashing sound.
