Tropical Storm Alberto forms in Gulf
Tropical Storm Alberto became the first tropical storm of the 2006 Atlantic hurricane season Sunday spawning sustained winds near 45 mph.
The storm is located in the eastern Gulf of Mexico and is moving at about 9 mph toward the northwest.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center expects Alberto to strengthen as it approaches the coast of Florida where it could make landfall on Tuesday.
