Mbeki won't assist ANC in South African elections
Mbeki was forced to step down in a row with ANC chair Jacob Zuma, the head of South Africa's ruling party. The split between the two men has led to the formation of a breakaway movement by former defence minister Mosiuoa "Terror" Lekota, a Mbeki loyalist.
